SPAC Tech Docs

How the AV, lighting, sound and control systems behind Sherwood Park Alliance Church’s gatherings fit together — what lives on which network, what talks to what, and what changed since your team was last on rotation.

Start here

The pages with the most in them today:

  • AV Network Vision — the VLAN plan and the physical layout behind it: what each switch is for, how the auditorium network joins the rest of SPAC’s, and where Dante and AVoIP sit.
  • Lighting network map — every run between the lighting panels, with media type, ports and addresses.
  • Networks — every VLAN, its subnet, and which DHCP server (if any) hands out its addresses.

Most of this site is still an outline, and the pages marked stub are empty on purpose — they exist so the section is there to fill in. Until they are, the authoritative answer for a given system is the configuration backed up in the repository and the changelog for that area.

What changed since last weekend

Each area keeps a changelog, updated whenever a change is made, so the next team on rotation knows what moved and what might need doing to keep a consistent service. They live in the repository rather than on this site:

Adding a page

This site is Jekyll LibDoc built from docs/ in the SPACTech repository, which also holds the control system source, device configuration backups and saved switch configs. Cloudflare Pages republishes the site on every merge to Live, and pull requests get their own preview build, linked from the PR’s checks.

Any .md file you add under docs/ becomes a page. The front matter decides where it lands in the sidebar — category groups it, order sorts it:

---
title: Network Map
category: Lighting
order: 400
---

Run make docs-serve to preview locally, or make docs-build if you would rather not install Ruby.
