Video
Video
Cameras feed a production switcher, and the program output goes mainly to the
live stream — occasionally to the auditorium LED wall, and only rarely to the
projectors (which are in the separate Legato/Atrium spaces and generally idle
while the auditorium is in use). Config and design revisions are in
Video/.
Network
- VLAN 23, subnet
10.0.23.0/24, DHCP (authoritative) and gateway from IT’s UniFi gateway at10.0.23.254. See Networks. - The rack “engine” gear (Carbonite processor, AJA router) is in the AV room left rack; the operator gear (Carbonite switcher, AJA panel, SKAARHOJ controllers, LG multiview TVs, shader/switcher PCs) is in the video control room.
- The LG multiview TVs are the exception: they’re on the Control network, not VLAN 23, so AMX can reach them. See LG multiview TVs.
Cameras
The cameras are Sony FX-3 / FX-6 / FX-9 bodies (the PTZ-named positions are on
robotic heads). Positions: PTZ left/right (.2/.3), main (.9), dolly (.8) on
an eMotimo motion base (.7), stage 1 (.23), and a second stage camera
(SonyImagingDevice, .223 — believed Stage-2).
Camera control — SKAARHOJ
- Blue Pill control server (
VIDEO-BLUEPILL,.6, Raspberry-Pi-based) — the brain the panels run against. - PTZ Extreme (
.15) — the PTZ camera-operator controller. - Fly (
COLOR-FLY,.14) — the shader-position controller (next to the PTZ Extreme).
Switching, replay, stream
| Device | Notes |
|---|---|
| Ross Carbonite | engine/processor (.4, AV room left) + switcher surface (.13, control room) |
| AJA router | router hardware (.5, AV room left) + control panel (.12, control room) |
Blackmagic HyperDeck (.10) |
record/replay (switcher desk rack; only one — the “-upper” name is vestigial) |
Epiphan Pearl Nano (.11) |
the live-stream encoder (switcher desk rack). Replaces the old Monarch HDX. |
Blackmagic SmartScope (.16) |
waveform/scope monitor (shader desk rack) |
| LG multiview TVs | multiview monitors at the switcher & shader positions — fed directly from the Carbonite (no separate multiviewer). On the Control network; see below |
COLOR-PC (.18) / MIXER-PC (.17) |
shader and switcher operator PCs (control room) |
SDI→fiber converters live Under-Stage Left for camera transport.

- Both are on the Control network (VLAN 21) with EdgeRouter reservations, so AMX reaches them
directly. Companion drives them too, through its
video-mixer-displayandvideo-shader-displayconnections. - Control is LG’s Network IP Control: TCP
9761, encrypted with an 8-character keycode generated on each TV. The keycodes are in those Companion connections and inAutomation/amx/include/Video.axi. Generating a new keycode on a TV breaks both until they’re updated. - Power-on is Wake-on-LAN only. The switcher TV drops off the network entirely within about 3 minutes of being turned off; the shader TV stays reachable in standby. Either comes back in under 2 seconds, but refuses commands for about 4 seconds after waking.
- Both turn themselves off after 15 minutes without an HDMI signal (LG’s No Signal Power Off), for example while the Carbonite is off.
- They answer the same IR remote codes, so one press of a remote can switch both.
Where the config lives
Video/ holds the Ross Carbonite / AJA configuration, the Epiphan stream
setup, the eMotimo control docs and design revisions. (MonarchHDX_Settings.xml
is legacy — the Monarch is gone.) Changes are logged in the
Video changelog.
